Facebook was reportedly granted a settlement of $711 million in damages from a spammer. Although it is highly improbable that the allegedly bankrupt spammer will be able to pay the 9-figure fine, he may serve time for accessing facebook accounts without members' permission.
The spammer has criminal contempt charges against him. He is also banned from accessing the site again.
