Elsie Law's Daily Dose Of The Law

At the turn of the new year, California's text messaging law took effect. This law makes it an infraction for a driver to write, send, or read any type of text-based communication, on any type of electronic communication device.

Many other states have implemented a similar law, citing distractions caused by texting. Lawmakers vow to keep creating laws that coincide with our country's burgeoning technology.

My only question is, what if your traveling directions are on your electronic communications device? I guess a driver will have to pull over and write it out, or have a traveling companion with them who can read it out loud.
