Elsie Law's Daily Dose Of The Law

The family of a woman who died in an emergency room, while waiting to be administered medical treatment, has filed a lawsuit against the city of New York.

Esmin Green's tragic death was captured on a surveillance camera at Kings County hospital. However, despite the visual evidence, federal investigators discovered that official medical documents stating the circumstances of Esmin Green's death had been falsified.

According to The New York Daily News, the lawsuit that Ms. Green's family filed in the Brooklyn Supreme Court, seeks restitution for the negligence of the hospital. Reportedly, the family is also considering pursuing criminal charges against certain hospital staff members.
