Elsie Law's Daily Dose Of The Law

State lawmakers in New York are attempting to pass legislation that will allow for the DNA of SUSPECTED criminals to be collected upon arrest. Under the proposed legislation, a conviction will not be necessary for an arrestee to have their DNA taken.

[Updated SIDEBAR: In a city where over 500,000 people are stopped & frisked annually- a majority of whom are innocent of committing any crime- I can only imagine how a law like this can be abused if implemented.]
