Elsie Law's Daily Dose Of The Law: Will Cuba & America Have A Renewed Relationship?

According to The Wall Street Journal, President Obama is ready to make some changes concerning America's interactions with Cuba. Cuban-Americans who have family members who reside on the island will reportedly be able to visit them frequently, and send them unrestricted amounts of money. Barack Obama will allegedly use his presidential authority to implement the aforementioned changes.

The trade embargo that America has on Cuba, which was put into place in 1962, still stands. Legally, the embargo can only be lifted by an act of Congress. However, there is speculation that a bill may be introduced later this year that will grant all Americans the privilege to travel to Cuba at any time. There is still a great debate raging cncerning what will happen in terms of the embargo.
