Is There A Lost World Underneath Antarctica?

British scientists are reportedly out to prove that a "lost world" is frozen in time underneath Antarctica.

The scientists are using a newly created ice-drilling invention to drill 2-miles down, into the ice cap. Their aim is to reach Lake Ellsworth, a 300-foot deep lake that is beneath the ice. According to The Independent, they are hoping to find a life form that may have existed between 400,000 to 2 million years ago. They are also searching for "sub-glacial life."

The scientists are expected to reach their drilling mark sometime during 2012 or 2013. The Independent states that once the drilling hole is completed, scientists will have to work quickly with performing their explorations because the hole will close within a day and a half.
