Vietnam's Aids Epidemic

The rate of people in Vietnam who are infected with AIDS has tripled over the past decade. Doctors are attributing the spread of the disease in the country to an increase of drug use via injection.

The U.S. Government has reportedly stepped in, and is funding a program that will distribute antiretroviral drugs to 11,000 Vietnamese AIDS patients. [SIDEBAR: Let's cross our fingers that this isn't the Tuskegee Experiment reloaded.] Meanwhile, the government of Vietnam is opening several methadone clinics to combat intravenous drug use amongst its citizens.
