Constant Election Day 2008 Presidential Election Updates

270 electoral colleges are needed for the win.

AS OF 11/4/08 7:47 PM: CNN IS projecting that: Obama wins Vermont, and McCain wins Kentucky. Vermont has three electoral votes and Kentucky has eight. Polls are now closed in Georgia, Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

AS OF 11/4/08 8:15 PM: CNN is projecting that Barack Obama will win Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Washington; and, John McCain will win Oklahoma, South Carolina and Tennessee. Remember that these are only CNN's projections. If these projections pan out, Obama will win 77 electoral votes and McCain will pick up 34.

AS OF 11/4/08 8:48 PM: The New York Times, The Associated Press, ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, and FOX are all giving Obama a sizable lead in the electoral college tally.

AS OF 11/4/08 9:48 PM: News outlets, including NBC, are stating that Obama has a likely "W" for the state of Ohio. This is an important predictor, because according to CNN, "No Republican has ever become president without winning Ohio."
