The Democratic Party needed to gain 2 more seats in the Senate in order to gain control of it. Mission accomplished. The Democrats will now take control of the State Government for the first time since 1965.In yesterday's election, all of the incumbent Democrats held their positions. Meanwhile, 2 Republican incumbents lost their seats; thus, ensuring an overall Democratic victory.
