A judge has ruled that Bernard Madoff, the allegedly fraudulent financier who caused misery to many, can remain free on bail- despite recently mailing over $1 million of assets to various members of his inner circle. Transferring the valuables to close family and friends, reportedly violated his court order which mandated an assets' freeze. However, despite this violation, a federal judge ruled against revoking Madoff's bail. Mr. Madoff is currently confined to his Upper East Side New York penthouse. He is on house arrest while awaiting his trial, or a plea agreement.
[SIDEBAR: There are petty thieves who are incarcerated alongside killers. Meanwhile, this man who swindled people out of at least $50 billion, is a free man. I wonder how deep his financial schemes really run, and who he is really connected to.]
