Elsie Law's Daily Dose Of The Law: Rogatory Letters Defined
The letter of the law states that rogatory letters are: "A formal communication from a court in which an action is pending, to a foreign court, requesting that the testimony of a witness residing in such foreign jurisdiction be taken under the direction of the court addressed and transmitted to the court making the request."
