"Madame C.J. Walker is believed by some to be the first Black woman to become a millionaire. This is disputed by supporters of Annie Turnbo Malone. Both women produced hair care products for Black women and were developing their businesses at the same time; it is asserted that Walker worked as a salesperson for Malone's products.
