Elsie Law's Daily Dose Of The Law

New York's Attorney General and the federal Consumer Product Safety Commission, settled a lawsuit that requires about a handful of dollar stores to recall children's jewelry that has been proven to contain lead paint.

The dollar stores found liable in this suit are mostly located in New York. The stores, and the wholesalers/manufacturers that sold the discount stores the toxic accessories, were required to pay monetary penalties ranging from $500 to $10,000- in addition to the required recall.
