Elsie Law's Daily Dose Of The Law

After 8 years of litigation, Wal-Mart has settled a class action lawsuit filed by their employees. The employees claimed that the giant retailer did not pay them for overtime, or allow them to take breaks.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Wal-Mart will pay the plaintiffs and their attorneys between $352 million and $640 million for the settlement. The huge payout will reduce the company's fourth-quarter profits.
