The Not-So Secret Death Of Bees

Scientists around the globe have taken notice of a new phenomenon involving bees, that seems to be contagious. Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD), which is marked by a sudden mass disappearance of a hive's colony, reportedly started in America and has spread to: Spain, Italy, Greece, Britain, Switzerland, and Germany.

According to "The Independent," 60% of bees in America's west coast states, and 70% of bees in America's east coast states, have disappeared. The onslaught of the bee disappearance is startling and jarring. There are those who believe that the disappearance of bees is an indication that the disappearance of human beings isn't far behind.

Some scientists are citing cellphone radiation for the onslaught of CCD. These scientists are saying that the increase of radiation in the environment due to modern technology may be interfering with the bees' navigation system, causing them to be unable to find their way back to their hives. Whatever the cause of Colony Collapse Disorder; if the bees are not around to carry out their natural function of pollination, the repercussions will be severe.
