Oscar Brown Jr. made his singing debut on the radio at the age of 15. In addition to being a ground-breaking writer, singer, and performer; He was also a great humanitarian.

Oscar Brown reportedly wrote at least 1,000 songs during his lifetime. However, only a little more than 10% of those songs have ever been published.

Oscar Brown was greatly respected by his peers, and he worked with a number of them; Including: Max Roach, Mahalia Jackson, Quincy Jones, and Nina Simone.
