According to The Gothamist, the MTA wants to completely phase out the use of toll booths within the next four years.In lieu of toll booths, the MTA is proposing that commuters be mandated to pay their tolls via E-Z Pass, or via a system in which non-E-Z Pass users would be billed after being identified with license plate cameras.
