Today's Fly Or Die Commerce Report: Live Nation Ticketmaster?

According to The Wall Street Journal, Ticketmaster and Live Nation are on the verge of merging, and forming a new company that will reportedly be called Live Nation Ticketmaster Inc.

Live Nation is considered the world's largest concert promoter. Ticketmaster is a lucrative ticket-selling and artist-management company. If the two companies become one conglomerate, they will be able to have almost total control of a music product from conception to a finally-polished show. The immense power that such a union could produce will likely attract the attention of anti-trust officials. More details of this deal should emerge over the next few days.
