Ernest Everett Just was a pioneering biologist. He was the first person to receive the NAACP's Spingarn Medal.
Ernest Just earned his doctorate degree in experimental embryology from the University of Chicago. Although Dr. Just was a great student, he was also a great teacher. He taught at Howard University for decades. He headed their zoology department from 1912 until the time of his death in 1941.
